NVIDIA released GeForce Game Ready driver 617.14 for Windows on September 22, 2026. Its announcement highlights support for CONTROL Resonant and upcoming titles including Gears of War: E-Day. The more immediate reason to read the update notes may be a specific game or monitor problem you have encountered.

Three launch and display problems addressed

NVIDIA’s 617.14 release notes say this driver fixes launch failures in Judgment, Lost Judgment and Virtua Fighter 5 R.E.V.O. that followed version 616.56. The notes also list a blank-screen problem with the Samsung Odyssey G95NC over HDMI after the R615 driver branch, plus certain monitors failing to wake through DisplayPort.

Those are narrowly described fixes, not a promise that every black screen or sleep issue has the same cause. If one matches your setup, note the GPU driver version, monitor model, connection type and affected game before changing anything. The release notes are the best way to see whether NVIDIA names the exact combination.

An open issue remains

The same notes still list an extended-play crash in Assassin’s Creed Shadows as an open issue. Installing 617.14 should therefore not be described as solving every known game instability. NVIDIA has not provided a universal performance gain in the cited notes, and NexusArc has not benchmarked this driver.

The driver is available through NVIDIA’s normal Windows distribution channels. Players without one of the named problems can evaluate the game-support changes against their own library rather than assuming the update will change every title.
