The LEGO Super Mario range is moving to minifigure-scale play in 2027. LEGO has announced eight sets featuring Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Bowser Jr., Fire Mario, Fire Luigi, Bowser, and other familiar characters. Every set releases January 1, 2027, with US prices ranging from $9.99 to $99.99.

The names, piece counts, age ranges, and prices come from LEGO’s official product information. LEGO lists January 1 availability through LEGO.com, LEGO stores, and selected retailers worldwide. Regional prices in the announcement are $9.99–$99.99, €9.99–€99.99, and £8.99–£89.99, depending on the set.

The range now centers on LEGO minifigures

The important change is not simply another batch of Mario-themed builds. LEGO describes this as a refresh of the theme around creative minifigure roleplay. The earlier interactive system emphasized larger electronic character figures and course-building. These sets use conventional minifigure-scale characters, vehicles, rooms, and play features that can fit more naturally beside other LEGO themes.

Mario’s Pipe Jump is the least expensive entry at $9.99. Its 61 pieces build a pipe mechanism that launches Mario into action and lets the figure knock a Goomba away. Racing with Mario adds a kart and a shell launcher for $14.99, while Mario’s Beach Adventures expands into a small vacation scene with a refreshment stand, lounge chair, wave, and Sidestepper.

Two sets are designed for ages four and up

Luigi & Bowser Jr.’s Race and Yoshi at Mario’s House are the first announced LEGO Super Mario sets in this group designed for builders aged four and older. The racing set includes two vehicles, shells, launchers, and obstacles. The house set creates a larger domestic play space with a garden, bedroom, kitchen, and green slide.

These simpler builds broaden the line below the more complex racing and castle sets. They also provide relatively direct ways to obtain Luigi, Bowser Jr., Yoshi, and Mario figures without buying the 850-piece flagship.

The largest builds focus on racing and Bowser’s Castle

Bowser’s Rumbling Race contains 409 pieces and costs $59.99. It includes the Bowser Bruiser, Toad in a Zoom Buggy, Goomba in a Biddybuggy, and a brick-built Cow riding the Tune Thumper. The karts include play functions such as shell launchers and flame effects.

Fire Mario & Bowser’s Castle is the largest of the announced sets at 850 pieces and $99.99. LEGO’s description includes Bowser, Koopa Troopa, Goomba, Fire Mario, lava-ball and trap features, and a hidden treasure chest. Fire Luigi vs. Koopa Troopa Battle is a smaller $29.99 companion build with a tower and cannon launcher.

What LEGO has not announced yet

The launch announcement provides set-level prices, contents, ages, and release timing, but it does not describe a blind-boxed collectible minifigure series. These characters are tied to named building sets. Availability may also differ by retailer and country even though the worldwide launch date is January 1.

For buyers comparing the wave, the useful dividing line is clear: the $9.99–$39.99 sets focus on one or two compact scenes, while the $59.99 and $99.99 sets assemble larger vehicle and castle displays. No affiliate links are used in this report, and the prices above are LEGO’s announced US figures rather than retailer discounts.
