Hollow Knight: Silksong is now available after years of anticipation. Team Cherry’s sequel launches today on Windows, macOS, Linux, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X and S. It is also included with Xbox Game Pass from day one.

The game costs $19.99 in the United States. Players control Hornet, the agile princess-protector encountered in Hollow Knight, after she is captured and taken to a new kingdom called Pharloom.

Hornet changes the rhythm of play

Hornet moves differently from the Knight. She is taller, faster, and equipped with a needle and thread that support acrobatic attacks and rapid healing. Her movement is designed around climbing through a vertical world, giving traversal and combat a more aggressive pace.

Tools expand her options with traps, ranged attacks, and other specialized effects. Players can craft those tools from materials found in the world. Different crests alter how Hornet fights, providing room to adapt a preferred style rather than following one fixed set of abilities.

Pharloom is a new kingdom to climb

The journey begins below and pushes upward through forests, industrial areas, settlements, and religious structures. Team Cherry says the game contains more than 200 enemies and over 40 bosses, along with quests supplied by characters encountered across the kingdom.

Those quests can involve hunting, gathering, finding missing travelers, or confronting powerful targets. A journal keeps track of them, adding a more explicit structure to side stories while preserving the exploration and environmental storytelling associated with Hollow Knight.

Several editions arrive together

Silksong supports the older and current generations of major consoles as well as three desktop operating systems. That broad launch lets many existing Hollow Knight players continue on their preferred platform. Save-transfer and platform-specific details should be checked with each store before purchase.

Team Cherry has also included a harder Steel Soul mode for players seeking greater consequences after learning the standard game. Accessibility and difficulty will become clearer as the community spends time with its bosses and movement systems.

Today’s release ends an unusually long wait, but it begins a new period of discovery. Pharloom’s routes, secrets, and combat techniques are now in players’ hands, and the best first experience will come from exploring them before every surprise is documented online.
